On Saturday January 2nd of 2010, Hopewell Valley senior Emily Kianka high jumped 5' 9 1/2" to set the all-time indoor Mercer County mark for girls. She broke her own county record of 5'8 set the previous year when she was a junior.

Kianka's record leap earned her first place at the Track Universe Invitational held in the NYC Armory. Her jump also put her 2nd in the
U.S. High School rankings list for January of 2010.
Later in the indoor 2010 season, Kianka would win the Meet of Champions with an even higher leap of 5'10.
