TRENTON GIRLS SET 3 RECORDS AT KEARNEY
43 Years ago the Trenton Central Girls Track Team set 3 meet marks at the Kearney Relays
The records came in the open 440, the 880 Yard Relay and the 440 Yard Relay.
The event was a two-day competition with individual races on the first day
Hall of Famer Wenda Vereen started on day one--Friday Aril 1, 1983--with a record setting run in the open 440.

On the second day--April 2--The Lady Tornados set 2 relay records. In the 880 Relay the quartet of Tamarian Nieves, Tracy Wright, Angela Heckey and Vereen broke the meet record which was formerly set in 1979 by Boys & Girls HS. In the 440 Relay the same 4 ladies tied the meet record.

Trenton girls finished in 3rd place in the team competition behind 1st place Newark Central and 2nd place Columbia. The meeting was sponsored by Adidas and held at Kearny High Stadium.
