The setting was the 13th annual Newark Board of Education Track Meet on May 8th, 1943.
The runner was hall of famer Ed Poreda.
The event was the half mile.
As reported by the Trenton Times the next day May 9th, 1943...
Trenton High's team would go on to win the meet with a 49 1/3 point total, outdistancing runner up Montclair High School by 20 points.
